Digitalization of process development for additive manufacturing

Professor Dr.-Ing. Frederik Zanger was appointed to the Chair of "Digitalization of Process Development for Additive ManufacturingDigitalization of Process Development for Additive Manufacturing" on 13 July 2023. Together with Professor Fleischer, Professor Lanza and Professor Schulze, he heads the Institute of Production Engineering (wbk) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. This professorship was newly established as part of the ICM.

About

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frederik Zanger is an experienced manufacturing engineer with over 15 years of research experience, specializing in additive manufacturing, metal cutting, simulation of manufacturing processes and digitalization of process chains. He set up the Additive Manufacturing research group at the wbk Institute of Production Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and has held the Chair of Digitalization of Process Development for Additive Manufacturing since 07/2023. His expertise in additive manufacturing lies in the processes Powder Bed Fusion (metals), Directed Energy Deposition (metals), Binder Jetting (metals) and Vat Photopolymerization (ceramics).
