DEMO11 - MOVER Lab

Mobile Operational Vehicle for Educational Research Laboratory

The mechanical engineering degree covers many different disciplines in the area of validation, from mechanics to computer science. To introduce students to the complexity and the exciting activities in this field, a mobile test stand including a demonstrator is to be set up. Moreover, measuring and control systems are to be developed, which can also be used and operated by students.

Aim

The goal of this project is the development of a mobile test stand with a demonstrator setup, which can be used by students and scholars through interactive examples. This is intended to spark interest in the field of validation and make the complex topics within this research discipline tangible.

Approach

  • Development of a concept and analysis of requirements for a mobile test stand that can be operated at exhibitions and operated by students.
  • Setup and commissioning of the test stand including a demonstrator that makes the typical tasks in the field of validation tangible.
  • Development of a concept for a measuring and control system that can be operated and modularly adjusted by students.
  • Implementation of the measuring and control system including necessary software interfaces for operation and programming.

Benefit

The mobile test stand enables students to playfully experience modern questions and activities in the field of validation. This allows the complex topics of the research area to be presented in a simple manner.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to use the test stand for study projects during their studies, thus gaining early experience with such systems.

Furthermore, the test stand can also be used for other projects of the Innovation Campus Future Mobility (ICM) as a validation environment.
