Thessaloniki International Fair 2024

until - Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Centre, Thessaloniki, Greece

German Pavilion @ T.I.F. 2024

In 2024, Germany will be the official guest country of the Thessaloniki International Fair and more than 100 German companies will present themselves in their own hall on more than 6,000 square metres.

An extensive supporting programme on stage with planned theme days, educational and networking events, a cultural program and a host country reception will round off Germany's presence as guest of honour at T.I.F. 2024.

Participation of the partners of the InnovationCampus Future Mobility (ICM)

The Innovation Campus Future Mobility (ICM) presents itself at the booth of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In addition to the opportunity to exchange ideas at the KIT booth, KIT will actively participate in the TIF program with lectures and a panel discussion. All interested parties are cordially invited to participate in the various event formats.

Our Highlights at the KIT Booth (Hall 13, B42)

  • Sensor-based Fuel Cell: A newly developed fuel cell concept with integrated sensors in the bipolar plate provides precise data on electrochemical reactions and material degradation, significantly enhancing the efficiency and lifespan of hydrogen fuel cells, offering a promising alternative to batteries for larger vehicles.
  • Project REMOS: This novel Synchron-Reluctance Machine (SRM) promises a sustainable alternative to rare-earth electric machines by increasing power density and efficiency.
  • Battery Pack: The newly developed battery pack for e-bikes with removable mechanical cell contacts allows for easy replacement of defective cells directly at retail stores. Originally designed for e-bikes, this technology is now being adapted for larger vehicles to improve maintenance and sustainability.
  • MinieVee: A scaled-down version of the "eVee" test vehicle. In "eVee," scientists integrate various subsystems for a future vehicle concept, including novel e-motors without rare earth elements.

Presentation and Discussion in the B2B Lounge

Monday, September 9, 2024, 14:00 – 15:30:
“InnovationCampus Future Mobility & Mobility Technologies & Software-defined Mobility”

  • Software-defined Mobility: Insight into the world of software-controlled vehicles, transforming modern vehicles into digital platforms.
  • OTrace: This project increases the range of electric buses through cloud-based software functions and reduces local control units by outsourcing these functions to a central cloud. The entire vehicle fleet is optimized, and system capabilities are learned through an IoT platform.
  • ICM Battery Research: From fundamental research on new battery cell chemistries like magnesium-sulfur batteries to international collaboration on the sustainable development of battery systems and the right to repair.
