Girls’ Day at KIT is aimed at all female students from grade 5 through to high school graduation.
Girls’ Day – Girls’ Future Day is a nationwide career orientation day for girls* from grade 5 onwards. Through Girls’ Day, female students are given the opportunity to gain insights into professions that are rarely chosen by women—particularly in the fields of science and technology.
To counter common stereotypes, Girls’ Day provides insights into degree programs and training opportunities at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) through lectures, workshops, and testimonials from KIT staff members. The aim is to showcase the wide range of career paths available to female school graduates and to encourage their interest in fields such as computer science, chemistry, mathematics, and related disciplines when choosing a career.
On Girls’ Day, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), together with the organizer from the Office for Equal Opportunities, invites all female students to take part in lectures, workshops, and experience reports. By sharing their experiences in scientific and technical professions, KIT staff members aim to help break down stereotypes about so-called "male-dominated fields."
Please note: Before participating in Girls’ Day, make sure to check with your parents and your school whether you are allowed to attend.
